Trash Dumpster Rules – Please Read

Trash Dumpster Rules:

The park has three trash dumpsters, two on the south end of rows C-D and I-J, one on the north end of row E-F.  It does not matter which one of these three you use.

The Restaurant’s trash dumpster is for their use only.  They pay for that service, not the park.

Breakdown your boxes so they don’t take up as much room.

Do not leave anything outside of the dumpster, even if you think someone may want it. If you think it has value, try giving it away on DEMPR.com’s Classifides first.

Chex Mix

Chex Mix

Everyone has their own favorite road trip snack or party mix, but none are as beloved as Chex Mix. Homemade Chex Mix takes everything you love about the packaged version—the crisp cereal, the toasty pretzels, and the crunchy bagel chips—and makes it even better with a few additions. There’s a delightful butteriness that can only be accomplished by making it from scratch. The seasoning is more evenly distributed. You can customize it however you like. But beyond all of the flavor benefits, it’s also incredibly easy to prepare. With only about 15 minutes of prep time, you can transform humble cereal into something spectacular.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups Corn Chex
  • 4 cups Wheat Chex
  • 3 cups mini unsalted pretzels
  • 2 cups plain bagel chips and/or rye chips
  • 2 cups Original Goldfish or oyster crackers
  • 1/2 cup 1 stick unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsp. kosher salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp. onion powder
  • 1 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp. MSG optional
  • 1 tsp. sweet paprika

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 250°. In a large bowl, combine Corn Chex, Wheat Chex, pretzels, bagel chips, and Goldfish.
  2. In a small bowl, mix butter, Worcestershire, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, MSG (if using), and paprika until combined.
  3. Drizzle about one-third of butter mixture over Chex mixture. Toss to coat, then repeat with remaining butter mixture until coated. Divide Chex mixture between 2 unlined baking sheets; spread in an even layer.
  4. Bake Chex Mix, tossing every 15 minutes, until crispy, about 1 hour. Let cool.
  5. Make Ahead: Chex Mix can be made 2 weeks ahead. Store in an airtight container at room temperature.

Congratulations – David’s 1st Year

The day that I was first introduced to our new Property Manager, David Lawrence, was just about a year ago when our then current manager, Ed, brought him by with an electrician to fix the service pole to my mobile home.

I had moved into the DEMHP a few months earlier and I had been hounding Ed to get the pole fixed, getting every excuse in the book.  I know from the picture it doesn’t look so bad.  It’s leaning just enough to cause some major slack in the wires.  I could grab a hold of them while standing on the ground. The service drop was hitting the sharp edge of the metal roof of my mobile home every time there was a good gust of wind.  At any time, my home was going to be lit up like a Christmas tree.  One night, I finally had enough.

During a really good storm, I’m laying in bed listening to the wires smacking my trailer hard, wondering if tonight was the night sparks were going to fly. The next day I called Florida Power & Light to ask them to kindly explain to Ed the urgency in preventing such a disaster. They came out and checked on my situation and then took a pretty good look at the rest of the park.  Shortly after that, we had a new manager and I had a new pole.  They are still finding and fixing the electrical problems in the park, thanks to David.

I don’t know if this had anything to do with Ed’s leaving. It was never my intention to rock the boat. I just wanted my pole fixed and to get some sleep.  I had no idea of just how bad the rest of the park was in.  From what I’ve been told, Ed’s time was due.

Since then, I’ve gotten to know David fairly well.  He has a wonderful sense of humor, but watch out, he’s a bit mischievous. A little devious. A lot of fun to be around.  The perfect choice for a manager.

David has done a wonderful job trying to bring the park back to it’s glory.  The front entrance looks beautiful (thanks Kim) with the sign area all cleaned up and flowers planted. The gazebo has a new fresh coat of paint. The trees all got trimmed.  Even the trash dumpsters no longer look trashy.

It’s not just what people see, there is a ton of work that takes place behind the scenes. The bookkeeping, which everybody hates to do. Dealing with the daily drama,  funny or not. Just putting up with all the crap that it takes to keep the place functional.

We do appreciate you David (and Kim). Congratulations on your first year.  May you have many more to come.

P.S.
Let the boss know that a place this size demands an Assistant Manager to deal with things while you have any or get any needed time off.  You deserve it.

New Games Have Been Added

There is now a total of 10 games to play. The Sudoku, Solitaire and the classic Minesweeper games have been added by request. Snake, Breakout and Word Puzzle were also recently added.  The surprising one though is hangman, it’s tough. They are All very challenging, but unfortunately none of the new games add any points for playing, but Concentration, Wordfind and Crossword still do.  These game are all designed to make you think and keep your mind sharp.

The Park Map Has Been Upgraded

The park Map on the website DEMHP.Info has changed. Instead of a plain picture, the map is now interactive. Information bubbles are now over the properties that are for sale and when clicked on, shows information about that unit. We can display text, images and videos. This way folks won’t have to flip back and forth between the pages. The basic information is right there.

DEMHP.Info Ranks #1 On Google

Being the first on top of the search results is is the prize that all websites reach for. There is quite a bit that goes into the ranking. Getting there is like reaching the top of a mountain.  Once you get there, it’s like you’re playing King Of The Hill and everyone is trying to knock you off.

Google’s ranking systems are designed to sort through hundreds of billions of webpages and other digital content to present the most relevant, useful results on the first page in a fraction of a second.”

The algorithm to make this determination is very complex. There are a ton of hoops to jump through and the process can take years. This was done in just a few months.

To give you the most useful information, Search algorithms look at many factors and signals, including the words of your query, relevance and usability of pages, expertise of sources, and your location and settings.”

Why is this important? It’s the first website people see when searching to buy a mobile home in the DEMHP. It answers their questions right off the bat. DEMHP.Info is the first place people look to see what mobile homes are available for sale in the park. It beat out Realty.com.

CONGRATULATIONS DEMHP.INFO
